We
sell both paper and fabric furniture pads. If you're buying pads
for a single use, you probably ought to buy paper pads. If you see
multiple uses in the future, consider the fabric pads.
Paper Furniture Pads
Paper furniture pads consist of two outside sheets of kraft paper
(brown wrapping paper) with a sheet or 2 of padding between them. These
paper pads are, roughly 5 feet square.
Paper furniture pads are, usually, used to wrap furniture, but they
work well for wrapping any large, heavy item. Use them to wrap
framed art, large brass lamps, large kitchen appliances or punch bowls.
If you can't roll up an item in a single sheet of packing paper, you
probably need to use a paper furniture pad.
Use
paper pads mostly to protect fine furniture from dust and dirt. Or, use
them as an under wrap before adding heavier, coarser padding. The image
closer to this text shows the internal structure of the pads -- two
outer layers of kraft paper with 2 inner thicknesses of a white padding
material called "chip".
While paper pads will supply a small amount of abrasion resistance, they are useful mainly for dust protection.
